Design Your Own Real Or Faux Leather Italian Upholstered Chairs With HomePlaneur

A few weeks ago I visited Shoreditch Design Rooms as part of London Craft Week, where I got to see the trade of chair upholstering in full swing. What stuck me about upholstery is just how intricate it is, and how those who upholster chairs are really skilled artisans. Proper upholstery is defiantly not something that you can learn from a You Tube video and do with a glue gun! However, if you want to add your own touch to chairs in your home, like selecting the colour, fabric type (plus even the detail and texture of the fabric), HomePlaneur has the answer.

HomePlaneur, a website that enables you to envision and create your furniture to your specification (from the colour to the actual design), offers a number of exquisite high quality chairs in a range of leathers (real, faux & hide). Select the style of leather that you would like, then choose the grain, texture and 'effect'; finally, select the colour. HomePlaneur have a wide range of real, faux and hide leathers, and they provide a close up image of the leather on the website so you can be confident in your selection:

If you would prefer your chairs made from real European leather, HomePlaneur leathers are such high quality that they contain very few marks and imperfections. If like me you'd prefer a high quality faux leather chair, then look no further than HomePlaneur's range of PVC synthetic leather, which is 100% made in Italy. Unlike some of the awful plasticky fake leathers you may find on chairs and sofas, which not only look horrible but squeak when you sit on them(!), HomePlaneur's faux leather has a PVC base, then a leather-like texture is created on top so it has a quality leather 'look' and feels soft to the touch. The PVC base will always match the colour of the faux leather top, so that when you look at the stitching it does not give away the fact the chair is not actually really leather.  Durable and easy to clean, faux leather is a great choice when it comes to choosing an upholstered chair.

HomePlaneur offer a range of original, contemporary chair designs. The Julia solid ash chair is a particular favourite of mine. The seat cover can be in a real or faux leather of your choice, or if you prefer, covered with a fabric. You can purchase this chair with armrests as a casual decorative chair, or without to use as a dining chair.

The Annabeth modern dining chair has visible stitches and can also be purchased with or without armrests. I prefer the arm rests, and think this design would make a great desk chair in a stylish office.
