I’m quite sad that this Passé The Store Gallipoli Bench has been released way ahead of my kitchen patio renovation being finalised, as I bet it will be all sold out before I’m ready to purchase one. Inspired by vintage design and handcrafted from steel, it’s upholstered in a range of Colours Of Arley exterior striped fabrics and currently available to buy in three colour options: pillarbox red, cobalt blue and olive green.

This might be pushing it to be seen as a garden bench when really it’s more of an outdoor sofa, but I had to include this simple two-seater from MADE.com (that can also be ordered as a corner lounge set). Cabana stripes are everywhere on outdoor upholstery and this mid-price option is a great buy to add a modern touch to a large courtyard or patio area.

Still top of my list for a brilliant budget bench is Habitat’s Indu two-seater. I got this metal garden bench in green last year for our balcony and I love it. This year, it’s also available to buy in bright yellow or an on-trend coral red.

For a high-end designer look for supermarket own-brand prices, look no further than the new Green Metal Slat 3-Piece Bench Set from George at ASDA. Featuring two benches and a decent-sized table, it’s mostly made from corrosion-resistant galvanised steel (to give an extra level of protection, spray it with a metal protector once the set has been assembled).
