This week, I headed over to the esteemed interior design trade show Decorex to see all the new interior trends for the year ahead and to discover some great new interior brands. I find that the show is really good place to source new fabrics, hardware, soft furnishings and furniture, so here are my top finds:

Colourful stair runners and rugs from Studio Jantien

I’ve always felt that there has been a gap in the market for more colourful carpets and runners. When I kicked a huge tin of red paint over my landing carpet, a trip to my local carpet store only offered me carpets in colour ways of beige, cream and grey, which was very underwhelming. I therefore got very excited when I discovered the Studio Jantien stand offering colourful, patterned and joyful runners, carpets and rugs.

Made in Europe from ethical New Zealand wool, you can choose from both cut and loop pile, plus an array of decorative hardware options for your stair rods.

Personally, my favourite design was the Chin-Chin in blue, green and burgundy - I am desperate to have this on my own staircase at home!

Block-printed textiles by Albert Harvey

Decorex is great for finding fabrics; alongside large brands such as Linwood, Ian Sanderson and Ian Mankin showcasing their new collections, you can always find a good independent brand or maker worth discovering. This year, I stumbled on Albert Harvey who uses lino printing to transform his drawings into a repeat print on fabric. With inspiration taken from the Oxfordshire countryside, his oak-leaf pattern in red was my personal favourite.

Turnstyle Designs: British Handmade Hardware

There is always a lot of hardware at Decorex: handles, knobs and pulls are everywhere, but one brand that stood out to me was Turnstyle Designs due to their very tactile, handmade pieces.

Hammered, woven and rough cut grip finishes adorned their luxury hardware ranges, which are made to order and manufactured in Devon. If you are looking for hardware with interest for your home or kitchen, then this family-run business is well worth checking out.

Italian Marble sinks from Atkins Antiques

There is something about a sink made from marble and I spotted some gorgeous wavy marble and limestone sinks on display via Atkins Antiques.

A business founded by John Atkins in the ‘60s, Atkins Antiques sources and supplies antique style basins and sinks that are crafted from marble cut at the famed quarries of Carrara, Italy. They have a number available to buy online via 1stDibs, but you can also place a bespoke order to have one made in your preferred size.

Tiles by European Heritage

I’m always on the lookout for good tiles so I was happy to stumble on the European Heritage stand. There were some great marble tiles on display, and I was particularly drawn to the glossy burgundy metro tiles.
