Revamp Restyle Reveal: The Big Living Room Reveal!!!

I am so excited to reveal today a HUGE project that I have been working on for the past 4 weeks - my living room transformation! I was delighted to be asked to take part in Revamp Restyle Reveal again for the second year, where 10 UK interior bloggers undertake the 4 week challenge of re-doing a room in their home with the help of some fantastic brand sponsors. The challenge of course is not an easy one - Revamp Reveal Reveal has a very DIY ethos, so hiring in tradesmen to do the hard work is not an option! This year I chose to revamp my living room. I have never decorated this room as I have really struggled with just how it should look. Giving My Blue Living Room A Quick & Easy Refresh

When interior-blogger pal and professional interiors stylist Maxine Brady from We Love Home recently visited my house to style it for a magazine photo shoot, it was so interesting to see how she personally styled my home. It is easy to fall into the trap of 'getting used to' our decor and home ware items - everything has a 'place' - so it is really helpful to have a fresh set of eyes come in and shake things up! I was amazed at how Maxine added a few new pieces, or styled things differently, and completely transformed the space I was so used to seeing everyday.

Before & After: Decorating My Living Room Blue

I think that one of the major pro's of being an interiors blogger is the fact that you get invited to press shows to see next seasons furniture and home ware. Just spending my day in interiors shops is a fun day out for me, let alone being able to see and touch not-yet-on-sale furnishings!  One of the big trends for SS17 that I took away from the end of last years press shows was the fact that blue would be big for 2017. Blue velvet sofas and chairs featured a lot. Large backdrops painted in lovely matt blues highlighted the new gold accessories for spring and summer.
