Christmas Door Decor Ideas & Inspiration
I’ve been popping into London a lot over the festive season, and I’ve been so inspired by all the decorated shop doors and residential displays that I’ve seen, I decided to make my own Christmas door decor display at home (scroll down to see how that turned out!)
One of my best spots was The Zetter Townhouse in Clerkenwell - a members only club set within a beautiful period building with iron framework and a traditional lantern situated just before the main entrance. They had wrapped around natural green foliage and accompanied it with red rosettes, snowy fir cones, and winter berries. I just loved the traditional Christmas look alongside the punchy blue door and symmetrical sash windows.

In Marylebone, I walked past this small boutique called Strawberries & Cream. I’m a real sucker for a pink and red combo at Christmas, and I loved the effortless and natural-looking display of the fern green wreath alongside the burgundy ribbon, set against a backdrop of candy striped curtains.
For ‘no expense spared’ Christmas door displays, Mayfair is a feast for the eyes. I particularly loved the ‘more-is-more’ bow and baubles decorating by Neill Strain Floral Couture.
I then headed further down towards the river to check out the ever-fabulous Annabel’s!

With all this Christmas door inspiration, I had to have a go at my own version at home this year. I love making a Christmas door arch surround; it is often easier to do than it looks if you just keep to a few elements. It creates a big impact for the holiday season, and it can also be quite budget-friendly if you forage for a lot of your main foliage.
My DIY Christmas door display
This year, I used the same ‘r’ frame that I created for my autumn door, before fixing on loads of fresh spruce.
I also foraged a load of fallen sticks from my local forest and sprayed them gold, before adding in some pink faux sprays, oranges, shatterproof baubles, faux red berries, and draping red ribbon.
The swag hanging on the door I made recently at a Christmas floral masterclass, and I could not believe how easy it was to make! It’s simply a process of layering foliage and securing it all at the top with string.
As this door is 90% fresh pine, it smells amazing when we both enter and leave the house!
