How to Create Stunning Spring Table Decor on Any Budget

Now we are hurtling into April, you may be thinking of creating a spring tablescape, or a bright and colourful spring table setting for Easter.

Spring table decor is one of my favourite types of table arrangements, and the good news is that you can create a spring table on a budget by using items that you already own, or just by adding a few inexpensive pieces.

Wrap supermarket flowers in napkins for a spring table place setting

Yellow

Yellow is synonymous with spring - it’s the colour of the daffodils pushing up from the ground, transforming the previously colourless winter landscape. A yellow tablecloth is a great place to start with a spring table and if you don’t have one to hand, it’s easy to dye an old white one with Dylon and give it a new lease of life. Alternatively, I got this floral RHS tablecloth this month for a bargain price of £10 from FRASERS.

Use supermarket flowers

At this time of year, the supermarkets are full of cut bunches of daffodils and tulips for around £1-3 a bunch. Buy a few bunches and add them to bud vases up and down the table, or wrap a couple of stems in napkins that you already own for a spring-themed place setting.

Add anything floral

As the saying goes, florals for spring are not groundbreaking, however, they do scream ‘spring’! Gather any floral serveware items that you have to add to your table. A floral print jug could be used either for water for the table, or to host flowers in as a spring centrepiece. You could also use any floral-adorned plates, coasters or cups. I’m a huge fan of these botanical plates by Portmeirion

Add seasonal food

Even if you are cooking a roast, having a few spring-themed seasonal food options on the table works well as a visual treat. A few small snack bowls of mini-eggs or luscious bright red strawberries lean into the theme of spring.

Keep it colourful

While yellow or florals might not be your thing, keep a spring table setting colourful. Pinks, greens, lilacs, oranges and pale blues will evoke the feeling of spring, so gather together any colourful tumblers sitting in your cabinets and layer colour throughout the table styling.
