15 Of The Best new Homeware Products In The Spring/Summer 2019 Collections
March is usually the month when new pieces from the spring/summer home collections start to become available online or in-store to purchase. I’ve seen quite a few interior bits and bobs this season that I’ve really liked, so I thought I would share some of those ‘must-have’ items out for SS19….
Alessi Plissé Electric Kettle
I’m a big fan of everyday items being re-designed to look a lot more chic. The new Alessi Plissé has, in my opinion, overtaken the nude coloured Stelton kettles to now become the most stylish kettle on the market. Made from thermoplastic resin, the pleats and folds give the kettle a really interesting form. I also like that the handle and the spout are all one block colour to match the body. The matt surface comes in white, black, red and grey and is priced at £79, which is cheaper than I was expecting for this designer appliance.
Terrazzo Serving Board
One of the new pieces for SS19 by Habitat. I love the large terrazzo black and pink pattern. I’d buy this not for functionality, but as a decorative kitchen accessory; propping it up against a wall on the worktop to add layering and style to the space.
Javi round terrazzo serving board with handle, £30, Habitat.
Pink Faceted Planter
Another new piece by Habitat for SS19, this large pink faceted planter screams cool Californian style. It would be perfect in a large space against white or very light walls. It’s 54cm wide so can take a big tree. I think this will be an instant sell out - get in there quick!
Brilliant Budget Bathroom Wall Lights
Finding decent bathroom wall lights can be a real struggle. Most of them are shockingly awful chrome and frosted glass numbers. MADE.com have come up with the goods with these monochrome beauties for just £29 each!! Place one either side of a bathroom mirror to create a very Pinterest-friendly, contemporary looking bathroom for less than £60.
Shell-like Serving Dish
I saw this dish by Amara’s own brand, A by Amara, last week at a press event and fell in love. The cut-out image on their website doesn’t do the dish justice at all, so the picture to the right is a picture I took on my iPhone at the event. The dish is made from glass with a swirling taupe, grey and white pattern. As the shape is not perfectly round, it feels very natural and organic in style.
Atkin & Thyme Armchair Now In Pink!
The Calvin retro armchair by Atkin & Thyme has long been a favourite of mine, previously coming only in cobalt blue, deep green and yellow. This spring/summer it has been released in an on-trend blush pink, so I love it even more than I did before!

Pretty £5 Pick-Me-Up Vase
Sometimes you want to just buy a little something to freshen up your space without breaking the bank. This £5 bud vase from Marks & Spencer is the perfect choice. The messy stripes give a bit of a grown-up, yet still modern, feel to it. Pop it on your desk, a shelf, by the sink or in the bathroom for a little update. It would work well on its own, or with a couple of stems added in for good measure.
Glass Bubble Light By Debenhams
It looks like it is from West Elm, but in fact it is new from Debenhams! Debenhams are one of the great lighting secrets of the high street as there are always gems to be found in each new season.
Scandi Splurge
Feel like spending a bit more money on some new home accessories? Then these new Muse vases from Ferm Living are a wise investment. Completely on trend with their curves and circles, the stony-white colour would work well against most wall-colour backdrops.
Insect Cushion Cover
Cushions can quickly look tired with daily use, so replace your cushion covers for an instant refresh for spring. This embroidered green and gold cushion cover from H&M home is just £12.99.
Modern Stoneware Serving Bowl
Another new piece by H&M Home, I love this contemporary glossy black bowl. I’d probably use it as a display piece in the kitchen for fruit or nuts.
Colourful Shaped Glass Vases
Either coloured glass is on-trend right now, or I’m just really drawn to it! The next three items on my ‘must-have’ list are all made from coloured glass and are all gorgeous! Lets start with these retro Totem Vases by West Elm, which would look ace with the sun shining through them on a window sill.
Contemporary Candleholder
Candle holders often lean towards a traditional look, but this muted green glass holder by Iittala is modern Scandi. Perfect for a single block piller candle, it sits at an elegant 10cm tall.
…More Delicate Coloured Glass!
I first saw this Broste Copenhagen Vase/Tealight Holder at Top Drawer in February. It is multi-purpose: turn it the long way up and it’s a great stem vase, turn it the short way round and it acts as a tealight holder.I love it in this pink and purple colour, but it also comes in blue/orange and green/blue.
'Alrik' Vase/Tealight Holder - Rhododendron/Cream Tan, £24, Broste Copenhagen via Amara
High Quality Smart Speaker
Gone are the days of the giant hi-fi, with smart speakers now being the staple in most households. The new Citation ONE by Harman/Kardon (those people who put plush speakers in BMW cars) is a compact but premium smart speaker with incredible sound.
